we move together
shuffle to assigned places
with our curt voices
we breathe together
inhale that self salted air,
exhale the same stuff
we soar together
gasping in fear (or wonder)
at the dumbing height
we eat together
that crisp snap and packaged mush
plastic plates and cups
and we even sleep-
strange airplane intimacy,
my heel finds a knee
then
we leave together
shuffle to assigned places,
part from nameless friends
